چکیده

Soil contamination by petroleum hydrocarbons is a major problem resulting from activities related to industry, automobile service stations and accidental release of oil in the soil. Bioremediation/biodegradation can be considered as an effective aid clean up spills, aside conventional methods that are uneconomical produce residues harm surrounding biota. There estimated over 250 mechanic shops with more than 5000 technicians Maiduguri. Mechanics working therein frequently spill which potent source immunotoxicants carcinogenic humans animals. The aim this study was screen for petrophilic bacterial isolates engine contaminated soil, utilize crude sole carbon growth Maiduguri Metropolis. Ten soils Bola Tashan Kano areas Borno State were obtained. bacteria individually cultured Bushnell Haas Mineral Salt Medium devoid except 21 days at 370C. Bacterial visible increased turbidity enumerated CFU/g on nutrient agar. Pseudomonas sp. isolate exhibited relatively higher ability grow TNTC followed Bacillus sp., 6.7×104, Arthrobacter sp.,6.5×104, Flavobacterium sp.,6.2×104, 6×104, Nocardia sp.,5.9×104, Acinetobacter 5×104, 5×104. Proteus 4.7×104 4×104. It therefore concluded all genera present hydrocarbon degraders.

Bioremediation of Soil Contaminated by Diesel Oil

Were evaluated natural attenuation, biostimulation and bioaugmentation on the degradation of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) in soils contaminated with diesel oil. Bioaugmentation showed the greatest degradation in the light (C12 C23) fractions (72.7%) and heavy (C23 C40) fractions of TPH (75.2%) and natural attenuation was more effective than biostimulation. The greatest dehydrogenase activ...

Effect of Electrokinetic on Bioremediation of Disulfide Oil Contaminated Soil

The removal of disulfide oil (DSO) from contaminated soil was studied by the bioremediation method and the influence of electrokinetic on the bioremediation process was investigated. The bacillus subtilis strain was used in the bioremediation process. The effects of humidity, time and DSO concentration in soil was studied. The experimental results for the bioremediation of DSO show, the removal...

Bioremediation of diesel oil-contaminated soil by composting with biowaste.

Soil spiked with diesel oil was mixed with biowaste (vegetable, fruit and garden waste) at a 1:10 ratio (fresh weight) and composted in a monitored composting bin system for 12 weeks. Pure biowaste was composted in parallel. In order to discern the temperature effect from the additional biowaste effect on diesel degradation, one recipient with contaminated soil was hold at room temperature, whi...

Bioremediation of Crude Oil Contaminated Soil by Petroleum-Degrading Active Bacteria

Approximatelly 0.6 million tons of petroleum is poured into soil, groundwater, rivers and oceans every year in China. A large amount of the oil contaminated soil has not been remediated. The contaminated soil poses a severe threat to the environment and must be taken care of. Bioremediation has become one of the most popular and promising technologies with growing demand for the remediation of ...
